For the device addict who wants to always stay on top of CRM matters, Oracle has just announced a new toy: the Siebel CRM Mobile for the BlackBerry platform.
To put first things first, the product should be easy-to-use and glitch-free - Oracle and Research In Motion, the company that produces the BlackBerry, both worked on it.
Both corporations also stated, "The offering enables access to the most up-to-date CRM data online or offline, giving users the ability to take immediate action on critical notifications."
Granted, those guarantees are written in press release-ese (which tends to exaggerate positive things), but Siebel CRM Mobile sounds rather promising with that sort of always-on access.
Research In Motion's vice president of global alliances, Jeff McDowell, stressed the product's security, as well. When dealing with any corporate data, this is an important issue, and when dealing with mobile matters, doubly so; again, it's just nice to hear some assurances.
Pickup of Siebel CRM Mobile will probably be fast and widespread, then, given these promises, the reputations of the companies behind them, and the BlackBerry's popularity.
Other recent BlackBerry-related developments have involved Facebook and Superpages applications; from fun and frivolous messaging to simply getting you to a meeting, the device has continued to stay relevant.
With the release of Siebel CRM Mobile, it looks like Oracle intends to keep it that way; Vice President of CRM Strategy Mike Betzer stated, "BlackBerry smartphones are 'must-have' tools for millions of professionals in thousands of organizations around the world."
